Like every other business in the EU we have been busily working out how the Club will execute it’s duties in relation to the new General Data Processing Regulations (GDPR).

We are also in the process of launching a new website for the Club, which is scheduled for the 1st of August 2018.

With the launch of the new website, members/volunteers/friends of the Club will be able to apply for their membership online. Applying for membership in this way will serve as notice to the Club that the applicant provides their consent for the Club to use their details in accordance with the Club’s Privacy Policy, which will also be available through the website, and will allow the Club to maintain more accurate records. There will be a wide selection of membership schemes to suit everyone (ranging from non-paying/non-voting social membership through to the full playing/voting membership option), and the website will also contain a list of these schemes together with eligibility requirements and benefits. A new scheme will also be included for the Club’s volunteers and coaches.

Regarding timescales, all current Club memberships will be cancelled on 31st July, and new membership applications can be submitted from 1st August. Any person that hasn’t applied for at least one membership scheme by 31st October will be removed from the Club’s database (called GMS and run by the RFU). Reminders to current members, volunteers & friends will be emailed on 31st July and 30th September.

The application process will require you to know your RFU username, which all of you already have (even if you don’t know it), and this will be included in the reminders.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via the Contacts page of this website.

Kind regards
Justin Siedle
