Under 14 Match Report - Newton Abbot 24 - 40 Nailsea & Backwell / Yatton
Nailsea & Backwell U14's, combined with Yatton (affectionately known now as Yatwell), went on tour to Shaldon this weekend. A match had been arranged with Newton Abbott at their rugby club on Saturday morning.
In the first quarter it looked like the N&B / Yatton players hadn't woken up after a night of exploring the delights of Devon Valley Holiday park.
However, the team managed to just hold off strong play from Newton Abbot to prevent them from scoring. After a few words from the coaches, the players all found their stride and proceeded to score several tries in quick succession.
In the second half, Newton Abbot fought back valiantly scoring several tries but not quite matching the strength and speed of the N&B / Yatton squad. The final score was 40-24 to the Ravens / Yatton team with the boys running in six tries!
This was a great performance and capped an excellent tour!
