A very wet, Autumnal day saw the N&B U10s play their second game of the season, away to Weston Hornets. Each Club fielded two teams and despite the continual rain, five games were played with N&B displaying their passion and commitment throughout.
Despite an early Hornets try in the first game, it soon became clear that by applying the practice from training, N&B’s skills at passing, tackling, rucking and running straight were paying off. In one of the first games, two of the N&B players each scored four tries displaying some great running and passing from all team members. Excellent team work also saw our newest members, Ethan and Scott, getting involved and really looking part of the squad.
Both N&B teams fought well for possession, actively ripping the ball away from Hornets. At times you could feel Hornets become deflated, yet they kept up the attack particularly through competing in the ruck and rallied to provide strong competition in the third and fourth games. The level of competition made tries much more hard fought and created really close games.
The final game combined both N&B squads with every player making their mark. Solid defending and strong attacking play gave N&B a resounding win overall despite the ball becoming difficult to pass in the challenging weather conditions.
Hornets were great hosts, and both teams were well matched but on the day, but N&B showed their skills across their whole squad was exceptional.
