Nailsea Touch Enjoys Overnight Success 10 years in the making!
The highly competitive 22 Team league attracts specialist Touch and Union clubs from across the region and provides excellent opportunities to play regular touch games.
Nailsea Touch battled their way to the 1st / 2nd play offs across the 10 week season and held their form to run out 9-5 winners against Hornets
Equally pleasing, Nailsea’s 2nd team, Ravens Relics, also took home silverware by winning the Bowl final 7-2 against a young side from The Incredibly Touchables.
With three players from the club’s fledgling junior section in the Ravens Relics team, the future looks extremely bright for the club.
Speaking after finals night Joe Swanson, Club Chairman, said: “I am so proud of the achievements of both teams tonight. As a club we strive to be both inclusive and competitive. I firmly believe that if we get the club culture right, playing and performance will follow. We started a club, and built a squad but it has become a community. We all work for each other and everyone has input into how we define and build our success.”
The club is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style with a Touch Festival planned for 10th August to be held at Nailsea Rugby Club, with a dinner and party with live music in the evening.
Nailsea Touch always welcomes new players and we are actively recruiting, especially ladies and juniors.
We train on Thursdays and Fridays from 7pm, league matches are played on Mondays in Bristol and we enter a number of National events across the season. We boast England Touch Association qualified coaches and referees and benefit from player representation at both Regional and National levels.
