One Win and one close loss for our Touch Teams in the latest Summer League matches. Match reports are below!
NAILSEA 8 - 5 TOUCHING CLOTH
Nailsea started the game well and executed some well worked moves to go 2-0 up. Touching Cloth answered back bringing the game level.
Nailsea's structure then faded away and the game became loose from both teams making the half time score 5-3 in Nailsea's favour.
Nailsea started the 2nd half at the same speed as they finished the 1st and allowed Touching Cloth to draw level into the final minutes of the game.
In the very final minutes Nailsea found their structure again and scored three quick try's to secure the match.
Nailsea will need to work on maintaining their structure and focus on executing their moves if they are to beat Touch My Bristol's next week.
RAVENS RELICS 4 - 5 NO BALLS ALLOWED
Ravens Relics faced No Balls Allowed (NBA) on Monday night in a tough match up.
Relics handed debuts to Jo Hamptom and Carmen Wyatt at Shaftsbury Park, a great testament to the talented ladies coming through the team.
NBA's squad was littered with players representing the region and country and were well drilled in moves and game plan.
Relics didn't let this faze them as they put up several very impressive defensive sets against the tight-knit opposition. This reduced NBA to only a handful of clear-cut opportunities, and allowed the Relics to just stay in touch.
It looked as if Relics would go in 3-1 down at half-time, before a late couple of tries, including a breakaway interception on the whistle, meant that the scores were level at the break.
Fatigue began to play its part in the Relics squad in the second half as NBA held the majority of the possession with their bigger squad. This lead to a few handling errors from Relics when they eventually got their hands on the ball.
Despite the greater possession, NBA were restricted to just a couple of scores in the second half as Relics showed great resilience in defence. An enthralling 5-4 defeat to finish the day, but a performance that all involved should be proud of.
