With over 300 children playing rugby every week, Nailsea & Backwell RFC recognises that all children have the right to participate in sport in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment whilst at the same time being protected from abuse, neglect, harm and poor practice. As such, the role undertaken by our Safeguarding Team is critical to the club.

In recent weeks there are been some changes to the Safeguarding Team, and it is important that we publicise these changes so that people know who the Safeguarding Officers are and how to contact them.

Firstly, we would like to offer an enormous thank you to Helen Broaders and Kate Stone who have recently stood down as Safeguarding Officers after a number of years of service. The club is deeply grateful for all you have done!

This means that we announce a new Safeguarding Team for the club – Alex, Sarah, Leah, Delyth and Lauren. As you can see from the graphic, we have spread the new teams responsibilities by age group, but you can contact any of them should you require any guidance or support. The Teams shared email address is Safeguarding@NailseaBackwellRFC.co.uk. You can also find details on Safeguarding at the club at https://nailseabackwellrfc.rfu.club/information/safeguarding.

In addition to the above contact points, should anyone have any questions or issues which you do not wish to raise with the Safeguarding Team, please feel free contact JuniorChair@NailseaBackwellRFC.co.uk.

Huge thanks, and good luck to the new Safeguarding team!
