Longlevens 50 - 12 Nailsea & Backwell

The Ravens travelled to Gloucester with eight changes from the previous weeks win over Burnham. Longlevens have been performing superbly in the league so far and Saturday was to prove to be no different!

Their huge pack mauled almost every lineout winning penalties and continuing to put pressure on the Ravens. When Nailsea did have the ball they found themselves on the wrong end of some breakdown penalties which gave Longlevens possession and territory.

Although the Ravens were defending admirably, the waves of attack from former Saracens Centre, Tom Griffiths, was too much for the young N&B defence and Longlevens quickly managed a try scoring bonus point before half time.

The second half was much more competitive. Longlevens tired from their first half dominance, and Joe Reed, Fly Half Emile Swanson and stand in Captain, Cory Love, started finding space out wide for Ben Perfect and Evan Wall.

Charlie Cox then drove over for a try that was only what his tireless effort deserved. Joe Collins added a second try after more good play, which was converted by Adam Grafton.

Coach Tony Hill said, “we try not to get too carried away when we win and similarly try not to get too down when we lose. We played a good side today. Sometimes you have to accept that and move on to next week.”

The Ravens play Midsomer Norton at home next week who are currently one place above them in the league. Kick-off is at 14.30pm, so come on down and give the boys your support!
