This year, the Club Grand Xmas Draw will be raising money for the CLIC Charity.

Many of you will know Nick (Dex) Dowling and son Nathan.

Nick approached me 2 months ago to advise ne that Nathans daughter has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time in 5 years, and he asked if the Club would consider using the Grand Xmas Draw to raise money for CLIC

I could think of no better cause. The Draw will take place on Boxing Day as usual, and Nick will be donating some amazing prizes, of which i will update you later.

In the meantime, please give generously, the Grand Draw sheets will be behind the bar from this Saturday. Thank you ALL.

For those of you who do not know the story.....

Phoebe Dowling was nearly 2 years into remission when her parents found out that she had relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. September 20th 2019 they were told that the cancer had come back in her CNS fluid and this time she would need a bone marrow transplant. Since they have had the awful news they have barely been home due to treatment and illnesses. She is currently on a new treatment plan for her which is a 24hr a day chemotherapy which only attacks the Leukaemia cells so it means it’s less aggressive to the rest of her ‘good’ cells. This is a 4 week on and 2 week off course which means she will have her second dose the day after Boxing Day. Phoebes donor match has accepted so the transplant date is set in place and sometime in the middle of January they will start to get her body ready for this date. So a weeks worth of radiotherapy twice a day and then an intense course of chemo for a week. This will mean a 6-8week stay in isolation at the children’s hospital. Hoping and praying that this transplant works and Phoebes body accepts it. It’s going to be along journey but we have every hope that this will work and Phoebe will be cancer free yet again!
